PTCA Committees

Below is a list of PTCA Committees and the committee chairs. To send an email to a committee chair, just click on the name of the committee.

Courier Committee — Tomas Clements
Coordinates and assembles NCS’s most important communication tool — the Wednesday Courier. This is information that is sent to the parents in electronic or paper format each Wednesday. The information lets the parents know what events are upcoming, volunteer opportunities, and includes a weekly message from the Principal and Executive Director.

Sustainability — Lynn Brandli
The Sustainability Committee is a group of parents working with our students, principal, teachers and outside organizations committed to improving our living environment.  We reflect on our daily practices in the school and community to better lessen our footprint on the earth.  We are committed to creating progress toward a healthy environment in our school community by reducing many forms of waste; creating with what we have; and nurturing to rebuild that which has been depleted.  Our committee aims to educate ourselves and our community to sustain resources for future generations.  Click here to read about all of our sustainability projects.

Grandparents & Special Friends Day - Elizabeth Carr
This event is held each September. Each child may invite a Grandparent or Special Friend to join them at school for some special activities. Committee members send out letters early in the year asking the Grandparents to save the date and put on the event which includes special activities in the classrooms.

Holiday Sampler - Kari Lovell
This event occurs on the same evenings as Winter Fest, the school’s holiday program. Organizes and runs the Sampler which usually includes a huge bake sale and a raffle.

Room Parents — Laura Finch
Coordinates various activities for the teachers in your child’s class. Examples include Mystery Reader, parties, snack schedule. Serve as a direct conduit for families about school/class information.

Yard Sale Committee - Melissa McKay-Hagan and Melanie Regnier
Organizes this Fundraiser held in September. NCS asks people to donate items that are sold at a yard sale held at the school.  This is the largest fundrasier for the PTCA.

New Family Partners - Suzanne Balog
The purpose of this initiative is to welcome new NCS families by partnering them with an individual whose family has been at NCS for a year or more. This program helps familiarize new NCS families with the school, offers an opportunity for new families to meet other NCS families, encourages new families to get involved in their child's education, and helps new families meet their obligations in relation to the family contract.

Bingo Night
Help organize and run Game Nights which is a community building evening when parents and children come to the school to have fun and participate in a viariety of games.
