NCS Discipline Code — Level One

Misbehavior that requires immediate intervention by the staff member who is supervising the student or observes the misbehavior:

Examples of Misbehavior Procedures Possible Discipline Responses
Bringing Non-Instructional Items to School Without Permission (including, but not limited to, electronics) There is immediate intervention by the staff member who is supervising the student or observes the misbehavior Verbal Reprimand
Running in School Building The Staff Member May Elect to Discuss the Misbehavior with the Parents, the Principal, and/or Appropriate Support Personnel Personal Talk
Violation of Classroom Procedures and Agreements Established by the Teacher, School, and /or Students Special Seating Arrangements
Inappropriate Behavior in Restrooms, Hallways, Cafeteria and Playground Withdrawal of Privileges
Disrupting Instruction / Hindering the Learning of Others Classroom Contract
Tardiness Principal Notification
Cheating and lying Telephone Call or Written Communication with Parent
Roughhousing Parental Conference
Throwing Objects Guidance Referral
Harassment/ Teasing of Fellow Students Loss of Recess and/or Removal from classroom
Use of Obscene Language or Gestures Confiscation of Non-Instructional Items
