Elizabeth is originally from Newark, Ohio. She attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2001. She has lived in Atlanta since early 2002. This is her ninth year teaching Kindergarten at the Neighborhood Charter School and she is excited to have another fantastic year with her amazing assistant Karen Goss. She loves being outdoors as much as possible whether it is the beach or in the mountains. She enjoys photography, watching her garden grow, live music, canning and a good cupcake. She especially likes hanging out with her two Labrador Retrievers; Oscar and Fisher & two cats; Tigre and Ingen.
This is my sixth year at The Neighborhood Charter School; my fifth in Kindergarten with Elizabeth Swern. I love Kindergarten and teaching with Ms. Swern! I feel I’ve found my “home.”
My route to “home” has been circuitous. In 1977, I obtained my B.S. Ed. from the University of Georgia. My teaching career at that time was short-lived, and I decided to pursue a corporate career instead. In 1994, I returned to my educational roots and now am happily and gratefully a part of the wonderful NCS family.
